Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Washington
This is regarding online branding and copyright for a major corporation:
Currently I am assisting in cleaning up information for my company online (street addresses to a physical location). Unfortunately some websites have us listed under Mcdonalds addresses or other incorrect locations. When I ask a particular company like Mapquest to remove this information, they simply decline to remove it on the basis that it comes from other sources across the web. But if we were to pay for their services they would then remove it for us. So therefore they could remove it if they really wanted to.
This hasn't been an issue with Google and other websites. And since the information is truly incorrect and is using our company name can we get these addresses removed by legal reasoning?
