Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Washington
I have a pending patent, and recently I found that a research project at a major company might be infringing on my patent. Because it is only a research project and not a commerical product, should I still sent a cease and desist letter?

Because your patent is only pending, it is probably inappropriate to send a cease and desist letter to anyone. Assuming they were infringing, they are not infringing on any legal right you currently have. The road to getting a patent granted is very long and costly. Consult with an intellectual property attorney in your area.
