Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Washington
In my school district, the special education department wants to purchase CDs of books on tape and download those to MP3 players. The MP3 players would then be checked out to special education students to allow the students equal access to public school classroom resources. The copies would not be sold. However, the CD might be downloaded more than once. Is this legal?

You did not address whether the books or recordings are copyrighted and if they are what does the license provide?
