Legal Question in International Law in Washington

age-child protection

My parents have been petioned to the states by my aunt since 1985. My name has been included in the petition, but I'm already 25 yrs old now. Can I still go with them to the States?

Re: age-child protection

Because of your age, you now have a different (regrettably worse) priority date. Once your parents get to the states, they can petition for you if you are still unmarried.

For more information, try reposting this question under the "immigration" category. Your parents might also do well to talk to an immigration attorney about your status once they get here.

I know you are thinking that the US immigration laws are unfair, and I very much agree with you. Unfortunately, I can only tell you what the law says; I can't make it change. Good luck.
