Re: Out of Business

Employment Security will not reimburse you for your bounced paycheck. However, you should qualify for unemployment compensation, so go ahead and apply right away.

Talk to Labor & Industries about your bounced paycheck. Even if the employer is out of business, if they have not filed bankruptcy, they still have to pay you, and the Dept. of Labor & Industries should be able to help you. If your employer files bankruptcy, you should be getting notice of where to send your claim for your final paycheck. You'll likely get pennies on the dollar, if anything, but there is no harm in making the claim, anyway.

Good luck to you.
