Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

consultant resignation

I am a design consultant. I was 4 weeks into working with a client when I decided I couldn't stand the abuse and resigned.

Compensation was hourly, there was no contract. She now claims I have breached the ''arrangement'' and threatens to sue for damages.

Is there some kind of implied contractual obligation in such a relationship?

Re: consultant resignation

You need to provide more information. Are you seeking compensation from the client or from an employer?

If you are seeking it from either, why the heck didn't you use a contract? I sure hope you do next time.

It may be possible to get paid. If it's under $4,000, I suggest you go to Small Claims Court.
