Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington
Can an employer discriminate against someone who needs a more thourogh background check because they havent lived in the state for 3 years or more. This partical employer was unwilling to go forward with my application and background and fingerprints because it would take too long to get the results back so they hired someome who they knew could get the results faster for. This someone, who could possibly be less qualified then me, got the job because they didnt have to wait too long for the check to come back. Even worse their excuse was they were trying to save me money because they were not sure if there would be a job available when my information came back, even though the job hasnt even closed yet and conveniently, they deny me and then post the same job a week later.

How very interesting. The question is really one of whether an employer can discriminate based on a history of residency in another state, and whether the acts you complain of constitute discrimination (I suspect that they might). Very rarely does discrimination based on history of residency in another state come up.
