Our office is closing. I started 12/27/2004 ending 12/31/07. 2 weeks vacation every year. I have used 4 weeks. Am I entitled to 2 weeks for this year??? Thank you, Tricia

Re: employment law

That really depends on the company's policy about vacation. It's a little late to take the vacation time, so I assume what you are looking for is vacation pay in lieu of the time off.

Employers are not required to allow employees to carry vacation forward from year to year and many do have a "use it or lose it" policy. If you have not used the vacation as of 12/31, arguably you would lose it if your employer is in this group. If your employer does, however, allow the vacation to be carried forward, you are probably entitled to pay for any vacation accrued and not used.

Check with whoever handles human resource questions at your company about what their policy is.

Re: employment law

It would seem so. You worked three years, so you'd be entitled to a total of six weeks vacation. You've used four. That leaves two.

Best of luck.
