Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

Port Authority

My husband was employed by the Port and after 12 yrs. as assistant harbor master he and the harbor master have been ''reoganized'' out of a job. They have rehired my husband as a wharfinger (bottom of the food chain), his salary and benefits remain the same as prior to the layoff for 6 months. After 6 months his salary is reduced in half and his benefits will be reduced accordingly. Do we have any recourse against this action or should would be thankful for the past 12 yrs. and move on?

Re: Port Authority

You may have a good case but I need more information.

1. I need to review the employment manual of your husband

2. Eventually I need to see his employment file

3. How old was your husband?

4. Who talk over his duties under the reorganization plan? a younger person? who?

5. What race is your husband?
