Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington
Removal of disciplinary actions from personnel file
Recently our HR Director allowed an employee to remove documented, disciplinary actions from their personnel file when the employee came to complain that their Manager would not consider them for a promotion. The HR Director stated that an employee could not be considered for promotion until they had gone 1 year without disciplinary actions, then allowed the employee to remove the oldest actions. Is there any law, State or Federal, that addresses this action?
Thank you

There is usually more than one way to 'skin a cat' and more than one legal theory that can be used to attack many issues. Who has been damaged by this action?
