Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

Restitution after being fired 2

My ex-boss is accusing me of stealing items that I did not take and is trying to having me pay for them. He has no proof that I took them. I have already admitted to eating food that was going to be thrown away and accept responsibility for that, but I feel that it is wrong to pay for things that I did not take. I would go to him about it except that he is being extremely unreasonable and will not negotiate with me or listen to my side of the story. What can I do to fight this without going to court and ending up spending more money than what he is asking for?

If he is your ex-boss, you don't have to do anything.

Like I said in my last email, he can either file criminal charges or a civil complaint against you.

If you want him to stop saying things, you will need to file a lawsuit and get a restraining order against him.
