Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington
I signed a media contract with a ridiculous liquidated damages clause. I left the job after 4 days because my sister got really sick and I couldn't be away. The clause said I would owe 5% of my annual salary for each month I fall short of completing my 2 year contract. The job only paid 22,000 a year. Si that would be $27,000. Now they want to settle with me for $4,800. I still think this I'd more of a penalty than a fair estimate of damages. Am I right?

Quite possibly. More information is needed to know definitively.
