Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

out of state employees still ''at-will''

We are a Washington LLC with permanent F/T employees in various states across the country. Are these employees covered by WA employment law or the laws of the states they work in? Are my out of state employees considered ''at-will'' ??

Re: out of state employees still ''at-will''

If you are an LLC with employees you really need to sit down with an attorney to review your hiring contracts, employment policies, and etc. Generally, whether an employee is considered "at-will" depends on a combination of state law and company policies. So, whether your out of state employees are "at-will" will depend in part on the laws of the state in which they work.

I hate to say this, but if you're already running a business with employees across the county and don't know the answers to these questions BEFORE you hire the employees, you are asking for trouble.

You need to sit down with someone, not ask questions like this on LawGuru.
