Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

Wrongful Termination

I was fired last month for stealing and my employer put me in jail. The next day I was released because there were no charges filed. What should I do? What are my rights?

Re: Wrongful Termination

You can bring a wrongful termination suit against the employer and include a charge for false charges. You may also have a claim against the police.

However, unless you have a very good case, it's unlikely you will find an attorney to represent you. For starters, if you worked there for many years it's a better case then if you worked there two weeks (for example).

Try the directories at wstla.org and welaweb.org for employment attorneys.

Good luck,

Merry
