Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Washington
Deposit, Fees, Transfering Apts.
We moved into an apartment with a 6 month lease. Never saw or signed a pre move in checklist. Went through 3 managers in this time. Paid rent on time and finished our lease. Moved into a different apartment couldn't get the manager to get us a new lease and once again never signed a pre move in checklist to the new apartment or a lease. Decided to move out. Gave our 30 days notice and paid up for the month. 2 1/2 months pass by with no word from the landlord and no deposit refund. Get a letter in the mail from a collection agency stating we owe $120.
Any advice on this?

Re: Deposit, Fees, Transfering Apts.
You need to write to the collection agency and ask them to verify the debt. Send it certified and keep a copy.
Then review RCW 59.18.260, .270 and especially .280 and consider filing suit in small claims.
