Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Washington

Liability protection

We own several single-family rental properties. Does it shelter us from liability to form an LLC? Right now, we have a $5M personal umbrella policy.

Re: Liability protection

it can provide protection from liability for your personal assets to form a corporation (S or C form) or an LLC. There are formalities associated with any form.

The person who can give you the best advice as to what form is best for you is your CPA. Seriously.

They can also refer you to a paralegal who can do the formation for you. It's a relatively simple matter, once you know what form is best.

Hope this helps. Powell
