Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Washington

noisy bedroom

i rent. the wall in my bedroom has

ether little or no insulation. i can

hear the people in the next

bedroom. i can hear the women cry

the fights they have, the kids giggle.

i can hear a normal conversation if

they are close to the wall , there

radio and the opening and closing of

there closet. what can i do about

this nuisance. is this the landlords

responsibility or not.

You can certainly have a chat with your neighbors about the noise coming through the wall; if that doesn't work, tell your landlord (in writing) and ask to be transferred to a different unit. If your landlord is not sympathetic, move out, giving adequate notice.

But rising to the level of a nuisance is not supported on these facts. Breach of your covenant of quiet enjoyment, yes, nusinace, no. A nuisance would be a crack house next door.
