Re: Residential Lease

A residential lease agreement can be for a single-family residence, or an aparment or duplex.

The dispositive issue is whether people agree to rent the space to live there or to conduct a business there.

There is a seldom used mechanism to exempt a lease from the RLTA in the case of a single-family residence. It requires, among other things, that an attorney for the tenant agree to the arrangment and sign the lease.

Hope this answers your question.
