Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Washington
tentant landlord
We have moved out of our apartment almost a month ago. We still havent' heard anything in regards to our deposit. When we contacted the Manager she says she has to talk to her boss. The apartment was rented the week we moved. Is there anything beside wait that we can do?

Re: tentant landlord
No, it is the landlord's burden to deal with the deposit disposition.
You can file suit in small claims. Read the statute, RCW 59.18.280, bring your contract and the walk through checklist.
You are entitled to twice the deposit just because they didn't tell you within 14 days, plus fees and costs.
Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
