Water billing post vacancy

Am I, as tenant, responsible for water usage after I vacate the premises? I terminated my lease two months early and paid the rent for those two months. I returned the keys to the landlord at the end of June. They are billing me for water usage for July & August.

Cannot imagine why you would think you are responsible for water bills post vacate.

Unless your agreement says you are. However, I haven't seen your agreement.
