Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Washington

Bankruptcy attn. lied on what was covered leaving me holding the bag.

The attorney in question said that all my bills would be covered. When I asked about my old student loans, he guaranteed they would also be covered due to their age. When I offerred to show him the payment history he said it was not neccessary. Since these were my big concern I agreed to let them handle my chapter 7. When it was over I was out almost $800 and the loans were not covered. I was told by another attorney at the firm that the person who signed my contract was unaware of the laws concerning studnt loans and had no right to make the promise. now I am out the money to pay on them and am in default as I am disabled and can not work. What can I do about getting my money back and can I get anything for the aggrivation and soon to be loss of my professional licence?

The question I would have is what would you have donehad he given you the correct advice. If you still would have filed for bankruptcy, it doesnow seem that you have any damages. If, on the otherhand, you relied on the bad advice you may have a case.Would you have paid off the student loans?

I am assuming that you are correct that the oldstudent loans are not covered. I don't know anythingabout bankruptcy per se.
