Legal Question in Mediation in Washington
Pet
I gave my daughter's dog to a coworker.I told her if she could not keep it I would take it back. She said if I ever changed my mind she would give it back. I asked her for it...she gave it to her husband's grandpa. She refuses to give it back. Dog does have micro chip identifing my daughter as owner. Any hope?

Re: Pet
You probably cannot get the dog back. Your coworker will claim that you gave it as a gift. If you try to prove a contract, that she would give it back if you changed your mind, you will have proof problems as well as costs of going to court. There may also be a problem with a legal requirement that contracts for over a year must be in writing to be enforceable.
