Letting things go to long?

Well, this is a bit confusing. I became ill about 4 years ago. My Dr. tested me, and said I was fine. I got worse. And asked him to do another test. He refused, said I was fine and it was in my head. Well, passing blood is not in my head. But, I didn't to do anything other than trust my doctor at the time. About 6-8 months later, I was in the hospital, hours from my death. My colon had died. But, instead of taking it out, they put me on way too many steroids. Which has saved my colon for now, but has led to many other diseases. And now at 24 I have to go in for a huge surgery, and possibly a hip replacement, because of the steroid induced Osteonecrosis. So, it is my feeling, that if the Dr. had listened to me early, and done the test, he could have figured out that I had Crohn's disease a lot sooner, and I never would have had to go on the steroids, and probably wouldn't have to face losing my colon within the next 5 years. I wouldn't have the liver disease, and my body wouldn't have been destroyed. I guess I am just wondering if there is anything I can do?
