Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Washington

Psychiaric malpractice

After 4 years of weekly therapy and twice yearly med checks with a psychiatrist My therapist knew I was interested in the issue of brain chemistry She recommended a 12 week course 3 hours a week focused on areas such as brain anatomy and physiology, depression and treatment neurobiological disorders.Women had a MSN,ARNP and CS. immediately made an appt. for her to become the provider for my meds and see her monthly. I continued to have episodes of depression, started me on Effexor 3rd month. Began severe problems, made an emergency appt wih her group (she was out of town). he upped the med dosage. Terrible response, another emergency appt expecting to try something new. She began to discuss her religious beliefs and informed me that since the med wasnt working and it was her BIG GUN that it proved to her that it had opened the door to satan and THAT was my problem. She continued to discuss that the world was ending soon and I needed spiritual counseling. Also stopped 4 other meds. The damage has been tremendous. I Have trouble with talking to my therapist, I am terrified to take meds and my relationship with my husband is in chaos. It may be my mind and emotion cut off at the knee but the betrayal and pain is enormous. She was absolutely wrong and needs to be stopped. Any opinions?

Psychiatric Malpractice

While it sounds like you may have a case, it is extremelydifficult to evaluate claims on-line. You should consultwith an experienced medical malpractice attorney in your area.I have a lot of good information at my web site on malpracticecases.. You should know that they are extremely difficult and, in myexperience, cases alleging psychiatric malpractice areparticularly difficult because (1) its probably going to be your wordagainst her word on what it is she said to you and (2) the injuryis hard to "see."Good Luck
