Legal Question in Military Law in Washington
Military transfers and contracts
My son in the Army signed a 1 year contract for high-speed internet service when he came back to Washington state from Iraq in September. He was just transfered by the Army to Missouri last week. He attempted to cancel his internet service in Washington but the company wants to charge him an early termination fee of $200. They state there is no provision for military to cancel early without penalty. I thought there were laws covering this. He was able to cancel his celll phone contract early without penalty when he deployed to Iraq.

Re: Military transfers and contracts
Have him go to Base Legal and they can generate a ltr to the internet company in Washington and the company will probably let him out. Just make it official.
