Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington
I was hit crossing the road!
I was crossing the road at 7:20pm, i was about 1/3 of the way across and this lady came up and i was about 1/2 way across, so i was on the road before she had gotten there so i had right of way, and she slowed down, but then she had hit the pedal and hit me directly at about 15-20 mph, she stated she couldnt see me, but i had on a white t-shirt and was in near direct light, plus she had her hi beams on. I went over the hood and was parallel to her passenger door when i got up. I had injuries in my tailbone at the time, but the pain went to my spine, neck and shoulderblades. I was hit about 2 weeks ago and i went to a chiropractor ,and she says I have many sprangs and many of my muscles are torn on my spinal cord. The chiropractor is suprised i am still walking. My question is that i dont kno waht i should do about the pain and suffering. I know that theyre gonna want to settle outta court, and they will offer me the littlest amount possible. I am in moderate pain, i can get around but it hurts badly. I am 17 years old and i dont know what i should do, my parents either. we know somewhat, but what would b a considerable ammount to ask?do i wait until i am out of pain? what if i dont lose pain? what if it jus continues? any informat

The most important thing right now is that you get the treatment you need. As a pedestrial you are entitled to Personal Injury Protection benefits from the at-fault driver's insurance carrier to pay for your treatment. You should not settle your case before your medical condition is fully known and you become "fixed and stable." Our firm handles a number of personal injury matters and I would be happy to talk with you or your parents over the phone or in person. Please feel free to call or email.
