Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington

Personal liability exposure as bike event sponsor

Context: The ALS Association has chosen to NOT sponsor their annual charity bike ride anymore, citing safety and liability concerns. My friend and I (I have ALS)want to sponsor it (purchase insurance, organize, run it) through our jointly held for-profit corporation.

My question: What is our personal liability exposure? In other words, if someone on the Bike Ride was hurt and sued us, I assume that they could go after any of our corporate assets, but there's not much there. Would they have any claim on our personal assets? Thank you for your help!

Re: Personal liability exposure as bike event sponsor

If you create a corporation or a LLC you would have much less of a chance of personal exposure than if you sponsored the bike event yourself. Talk to a good insurance agent to get the best coverage.
