Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington

Threatened by previous tenant/drug dealer

I was in my bankruptcy 341 meeting and one of the ''non-proven'' creditors (a drug dealer and previous renter of one of my properties) (he says I owe him, I say I don't, but I included him in my Chapt 7 just in case) was there.

After he had his say to the trustee and we left the room, he turned to me and said ''I've got a gun and you'd better watch your back''. I said, ''Are you threatening me?'' In an incredulous tone, because I was shocked he would say that in court and in front of so many people, and he said ''''It's more than that''. At that point my attorney walked up and he left. My bankruptcy attorney heard him and sent an email and letter to his attorney about violation of the bankruptcy stay. His attorney didn't respond. He and his attorney are both black and he has ties to a gang in Seattle. I'm white. We are both about 55.

He has a Domestic Violation conviction with a gun.

I thought the email from my attorney would cover eveything but later was told by a friend, that because of this guy's history, to report it to the police, which I then did.

Now, I'm wondering what to do next. I am looking for a PI attorney to take it to the next step.

Re: Threatened by previous tenant/drug dealer

There probably isn't much you can recover from this guy from suing him. One, it isn't clear that his threat caused you any injury and, if so, what is that injury worth? Also, if he's a drug dealer than he has no legal assets to claim. The fact that he is black and you are white is completely irrelevant and I'm confused why you even mention that.
