Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington
Work injury
I was working under the table and on my first day, to no fault of my own, the ladder slipped out from under me when my employer let go after assuring me of it's stability and him spotting. He now has had his insurance company notify me that he is not responsible for the incident. And gave a false statement to his insurance company. Even after I had given the correct, and true statement to the insurance co. they had part in lying right along with my employer and pretty much dismissed/erased everything I said. What can I do?

Understand that if you take action against your employer -- which may be appropriate -- you expose yourself to whatever legal or financial consequences may flow from working without having your taxes paid out. I would urge you to get in touch with a Washington-licensed employment/L&I lawyer to analyze your situation.
You need an in-office interview to best advise you and give you the most accurate options. They can also advise you if it's best to have your state labor board or similar public body investigate this for you. But talk to a lawyer, first. There are negligence, works comp, wrongful terminations issues to review, for starters, as well as practical issues, to help you decide if it's even worth pursuing with a lawyer.
Frequently, law firms in this area of the law will talk to you for free, at least on the phone, and if they take the case, many handle it on a contingency basis. Sometimes, nterviewing a few lawyers is better, and gets you a better sense of what they're telling.
Good luck!
