Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington

apartment/landlord issue

I lived in a bldg. in Seattle 3 yrs ago. I requested the l-lord on several occasions to do a walk thru upon my move out. She said she was not going to be availble-I still have the hand written note from her stating this. So with no other chI cleaned the apt and left her a voice mail as to where I left the keys. Anyhow, upon recently checking ,my credit report I found out I was charged rent for time I was not even living in the unit plus a re-key cost. When I asked the Property Management company for an explantion they told me to call the collections agency-only to be told I am going to be served with a judgement for the the alleged amount of money they say I owe. I was attempting to resolve the issue from the beginning-only to be sent mail w/a threat to have a judgegment against me for money I do not owe. Additionally, the landlord first stated on the move out form I owed an additonal $500-when I asked for why and to please provide reasoning and the orginal move in form the Property management company they said they could not provide one according to Wa. State law so they said to ignore it. I have been treated very unfairly. I am wondering if you can tell me what direction to take so as to resolve this matter

Sincerely,

Co

Re: apartment/landlord issue

Dear Co:

If you want to keep arguing with them, do it in writing. If they serve you with a lawsuit, call me for help.

This is simple landlord tenant collections law. I'd be happy to help you. If you get served with a summons and complaint please don't hesitate to call.

If you release any information to the collections agency or enter any agreements with them then I can't help. From where you are postured right now, I'd be happy to help.
