Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington
Dividing Property
My partner and I own 4 equal lots (2.2 acres each) that are paid for, free and clear. We want to terminate our parntership and each take 2 lots each. Is this an easy process, and how is it done?

Re: Dividing Property
So long as both of you are in complete agreement as to who takes what property, it is very easy.
It's the disagreements that take time and energy.
You would do well to have an attorney draft (or bare minimum, review) your dissolution of partnership statement and quit claims transferring the interests in the real property. I am worried that if you draft them yourselves they could be ineffective, no matter how well intentioned.
