Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington
I feel like I am being lynched
There is a married family across the street who has hated me for 7 years, lot's of complaints have been made against me by them to grind their axe, last year, they joined the neighborhood comittee overlooked by code enforcement, animal control and the police. they started complaining about me and using the group to ''get'' me. I raise birds, I don't make money on them, and admittedly, it gets messy in my house, the people across the street had never been over here, but they told animal control I had alot of birds and a couple of chickens, the animal control didn't know I could have the hens, they wanted in my home, when I refused they said I had a retaining wall violation and wires hanging out. they lied to get the code inspectors in on it, I ended up having every enforcement in the city here, I am now threatened with having being classified of a derelict house, because of bird feces. How much is too much? Can I sue them for jumping on a band wagon to go after me? I proved to them the only ones making complaints were the people in the corner house. They know that. I am not bothering anyone, but this has cost me jobs, lot's of stree, I am a single woman who trying to make it, do I have to let them get away with this?

Re: I feel like I am being lynched
Dear Madam:
Based on your facts, and depending on further facts, the situation may revolve around--among other issues--the issue of a nuisance action. Whether or not your animals created a substantial interference with your neighbors' use and enjoyment of their own property may be an issue.
You may wish to contact an attorney to further review the situation.
Thank you.
Respectfully.
