own a house w/ my ex

In sept bought a house with my partner of 7 1/2 yrs. the realtionship has ended. We are both on the title and both are on the mortgage. I cannot afford the house alone, but my ex can, I have been asked to move. I need to know what my rights are as the co-owner?

You have ownership of 1/2 the house and may have legal responsibility for ALL of the debt. If you are moving out you should enter into a written agreement with your ex identifying how your ex will buy you out, including any liability you now have on the house and confirm that your name has been taken off the mortgage. You should see a real estate attorney to assist you in this matter.
