Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington

Joint Tenancy Dissolution

I have entered into a Joint tenancy and now want out. I am not married or related with the other owner and they do not want to sell. What can I do to legally dissolve this contract, no longer be held liable for the property and be reimbursed my portion of the investment?

Re: Joint Tenancy Dissolution

You can sever the joint tenancy by conveying your interest to a third person(s). The transferee will become a tenant in common with the other joint tenants, who will continue to be joint tenants among themselves. See 64.28.010, et seq. and annotations.
