Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington

Verbal Agreements

We have sold our home and have a signed written agreement by both parties.

Prior ot signing the agreement, the seller advised and was verbally acknowledged by the prospective buyers that storage cabnits in the garage would not be included in the sale. After the buyers signed the sale agreement, they said that the cabinets would have to stay with the houes because it wasnt in the writen agreement. What does the law say ab out verbal vs written agrteements which is binding. Do the garage cabnits stay or go??

Re: Verbal Agreements

You will need to look to the contract to determine whether you can assert your verbal agreement as binding upon both the parties. Normally, contracts are drafted to exclude anything not written in the contract. As such, unless the cabinets were written into the contract, you will likely not be able to get them.
