Legal Question in Tax Law in Washington
The IRS, the FOIA and protecting violators
My question is quit simple. I sued someone for filing false forms with the IRS because it ended up costing me over $10,000. When I took the people who filed the false forms to court they told the judge they never filed the forms in question. When I contacted the IRS to find out who did the IRS told me under the FOIA they don't have to tell me who filed the forms.
My question is does anyone know of a law suit where the court said the FOIA dosen't protect violators and the IRS was told to tell the court the person who they were protecting?
If could find such a case I could show the District Director who currently has my case that the person they are protecting can't come after the IRS because this law suit or law provides protection to the IRS.
Thanks,

Re: The IRS, the FOIA and protecting violators
1. How do you know who did it?
2. You can go to any law library & look up the FOIA rules..Ask the librarian for help...good luck!
