Legal Question in Traffic Law in Washington
no drivers license
My friend purchased a used car for her son who has a suspended driver's license. He has been picked up twice in the past month for DUI, has 2 court dates coming up. If he is driving this car, which is in my friend's name, can my friend be liable for anything? Would she be quilty of any criminal matter by allowing her son to continue driving this car?

Re: no drivers license
Yes. Permitting an unlicensed driver to operate a motor vehicle is a crime. She would also be subject to civil liability if he is involved in an accident.
