An expereinced attorney is your best defense!

The possession of a driver's license is an important privilege, but with it comes responsibility. If you have received a traffic ticket in Washington, then there a few things you should know.

CONSEQUENCES

There are many consequences to having a traffic ticket on your driving record, some of which include increased insurance costs, expensive court fines, and under some circumstances even a driver's license suspension. Although too many tickets can result in the suspension of your driver's license, many motorists get their license suspended simply because they fail to respond to the ticket. If you have received a traffic ticket, you have the constitutional right to challenge the evidence against you and to confront any witnesses.

CONTEST YOUR TRAFFIC TICKET

Just because you received a traffic ticket, does not necessarily mean it has to end up on your driving record. If you contest your traffic ticket the prosecutor must prove that you committed the infraction in accordance with Washington State traffic laws. However, simply paying the ticket means it automatically gets reported to the Department of Licensing and will be on your driving record for years. If you are concerned about your driving record and protecting your automobile insurance rates, then you should think over your decision to just pay the ticket carefully.
