Legal Question in Traffic Law in Washington

Purposely rear ended me. Plz help

I had a driver who was flipping me off and stuff because he thought i was tailgating. I turned off on a Y road, i went left to a stop sign, he continued to the right. He then noticed i turned left and he took the first left, off the rightside of the Y and ran a stopsign, pulled out in front of me and slammed on the breaks, forcing me to slam on the breaks, rear ending him and totalling my car and hardly leaving a scratch on his. This just isn't right. Is there a way i can get him in trouble for purposely making me rear ended. I mean he ran a stop sign and stopped in the middle of the road, and stopped hard. THere is a witness who saw him go around the stop sign, cutting me off and stop to a screetch in front of me. What is the best thing i can do, so my car gets fixed and he is punished for doing this? Please help me. Im 18 and have had the car for 2 months. I bought it for 14000. His car isnt worth 1000. What was his plan? What is the best thing i can do?

The only way you will get anywhere is with the help of an attorney. Is the witness still available and is he or she willing to testifyfor you? You will need to have all of the facts and any police reports to use in thi scase. Were the police called? What did they say? You will need a good attorney. Did your insurance pay the other guy off? Were you insured? All good questions for your lawyer. Good Luck!
