ptsd and unemployability claim
I reopened a claim for ptsd and I.U in 2008 I returned from Iraq in 2005. I new I had ptsd and was self medicating myself with alcohol. will this effect my claim? because of the ptsd I drank, and because I drank I couldnt hold a job. I have been sober since august, and am dealing with the ptsd full on its tough. will the past alcohol dependancy effect my claim?

Re: ptsd and unemployability claim
Alcohol dependence is sort of understood to be a symptom of PTSD. I don't think they will hold it against you, but every case is different. Just wait and see what kind of decision they come back with.
Good luck.
