access to father's will

i do not trust that as the exectutor (-trice) of my father's will, my stepmother

carried out the terms of the will. could i actually look at the will? he did not

make provisions for my siblings but i wonder if, because i have ms, he made

some kind of arrangement for me. thank you. eak.

A will "speaks as of the moment of the testator's death" so if you father has died with a will that will is filed at the courthouse in the county where he died, or where he lived, most likely.

A will is a public document. You are entitled to know what the will says once it has been offered into probate.

Call the Clerk's office and provide them your dad's information - his name, and date of death - and they can tell you whether there is a will filed or not.

Go look at it.

If he's not dead you have no right or authority to ask to see his will. He can allow you to see it but the choice to do that is completely up to him.
