Changing beneficiary names

My father is a few days from passing away.He has just given his wife power of Attorney.Does she now have the power to change names on what he has set up for his adult children.As in beneficiary names,and stocks that are supposed to be left to us.He has no will.

If he has no will what can she change?

Read the DPOA. Usually they do not give the attorney in fact the right to change the principal's will or usual pattern of gift giving.

But please know that as she's his wife, she's entitled to all of their community whether there is a probate or not and half of his separate property.
