Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

Consent to Appointment

My parents have recieved a letter from an attorney asking for my fathers ''consent to appointment of copersonal Representatives''. My father is the executor of the will. He was guardian of my uncle for many years until he moved to Florida. He signed over guardianship with conditions to my cousin. Since then, my cousin has violated the conditions and is now working with an attorney during this probate. What is this about and why do they need my consent? I wasn't even notified of my brothers death until 4 days after the fact. Should I hire an attorney?

Re: Consent to Appointment

Sounds like someone other than your father wants to serve as co-personal representative. If it is that problem cousin you speak of, I'd check this all out with a local (Florida) attorney.
