I am the beneficiary of a trust set up for me by my grandparents, my mother is the trustee until I tern 30 (5 months from now) How can I get a copy of the trust with out going through my mother? We are not on speaking terms.

Hmmmm, well as beneficiary you are entitled to an accounting of the trust assets unless that trust provides otherwise and she would have to show you the trust to prove that. I guess my suggestion is that you sit down with an attorney for 30 minutes and have them draft a letter to her requesting a copy of the trust.

Do you know who drafted the trust? The attorney who drafted it may well have a copy and as you are a (the) beneficiary you can probably talk him/her into letting you see it.

Somebody has to have accounted for the money while it is in trust. THAT's what you really want to see.

Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
