correct will to use

I am trying to figure out if the Washington Will Divorced Person (not remarried) with Minor Children will work if I have a large life insurance policy.

Re: correct will to use

I have no idea what you mean by "Washington will - Divorced Person (not remarried) with Minor Children".

is this a form you bought off the internet? Did an attorney write it for you? Do you understand that wills cannot transfer custody, because children are not property?

Life insurance is not a probate asset.

Any decent attorney can write an estate plan specifically tailored to your situation. It should include your will/trust, a durable power of attorney and a health care directive.

For one person, I generally do these at a flat rate of $350.

Considering it is your children's welfare at stake, wouldn't it make sense to make sure your testamentary intent is properly assured, rather than relying on a document that cannot explain itself?
