deceased father money

at the time of my fathers passing I believe he had a joint bank account in his and my name. how do I find the bank if the location is unknown and the executor to his estate will not for go that info.

A bank account is typically a payable on death account, so you will now take the balance in the account if you are the person he designated when he opened the account.

IF there is a probate open, serve the executor with a subpoena and notice of deposition requiring the information.

The executor won't have a choice, and you are entitled to know. Also, a POD account is not an estate asset, doesn't go through probate, and you are arguably entitled to the information and the funds with no further ado.
