Re: estate planning

You may be able to keep the CA trust documents as is but it wouldn't hurt to have a WA estate planning attorney review them. Do you still own property in California? That will have a lot to say about how your estate plan should look.

Remember, I'm an attorney but I'm not YOUR attorney. Only a thorough review of your situation by a competent attorney after an attorney-client relationship has been established will result in an informed legal opinion.

Re: estate planning

Read the documents. They will address the issue of where the trustors are domiciled.

Probate in WA is a piece of cake compared to CA. There could be some very good reasons to have a WA trust attorney review and advise pursuant to WA law, if CA does not need to control at this time.

Hope this helps, Elizabeth Powell
