Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

My fathers friend died. His second wife thinks that she will inherit everything althought they have only been married for 10 months. He also has two children (19 and 23) from a prior marrige. One of which is disabled. Is there any provisions in the Washington state law that insure that the children will inherit their rightful share of the inheritance.

Children can only be disinherited by a will that specifically shows the intent to disinherit them. Merely leaving the children out of the will will not accomplish their disinheritance. Do you have a copy of the will or have you see one? Delay in challenging a will can cause a challenge to fail, even if the will is not proper. Ask for a copy of the will and whether you get it or not, contact me or another lawyer of your choice immediately.
