Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

Foreclosure Action

My 21yr old son has been served with a Summons & complaint regarding the forclosure of his deceased father's house. The action is in New Jersey and I he is in Washington State. His brothers have also been served, but they are not speaking to each other presently. My son is a full time college student and seeks legal aide from New Jersey but when we called NJ they said that he has to apply for legal aid in WA so they can refer him to NJ. I don't think there is time for that as if he does have to submit an answer it is due in 35 days. Please advise what has to be done. Thank you.

I am not licensed in NJ and would not want to advise on NJ law. He really needs to make sure that this gets posted as a NJ case if he wants advice on NJ law.
