Your best bet is to hire an attorney to help you probate the estate.
The issue is that you were never married, and thus your right to the house and the real property is not a forgone conclusion. Somebody is going to have to argue on your behalf that that is what your boyfriend intended to happen, and even so, the court might or might not buy it.
You don't have to pay funeral bills, hospital bills or house bills for a decedent. His estate is responsible for that. An attorney can help you sort out your rights and get you repaid for the obligations you assumed that you had no duty to assume. Let me be clear that even if you were his child, you still cannot be liable for debts like these.
You have an interesting issue ahead, and your best bet is to find a local attorney who handles probate and estate matters and tell them exactly what is going on.
Best wishes to you on this problem.
